Why Mulshi, Pune?
If you’ve ever driven out of Pune towards Mulshi, you’ll know why this area is popular. Mulshi is known for its green hills, dams, and peaceful weather, sitting quietly between the busy city life of Pune and Mumbai.
Over the last few years, Mulshi has become something of a hotspot for people with money who want a getaway home or a long-term land investment.
The area offers a mix of things that make it attractive:
- Easy connectivity to both Mumbai and Pune
- Scenic, green surroundings away from city noise
- Growing demand from high-net-worth buyers and investors
- Potential for future development as infrastructure improves
Basically, it’s the kind of place where a farmhouse, weekend retreat, or long-term land bank makes a lot of sense and clearly, Ranbir agrees.
Not His First Big Move This Year
This Pune deal isn’t a one-off. Ranbir Kapoor has been quietly active in real estate for a while now.
In May 2026, he bought a 2,134 square foot plot in The Sarayu, a premium plotted development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha in Ayodhya, for around Rs 3.31 crore.
This project sits along the banks of the Sarayu River and is spread across 75 acres, with plans for a clubhouse, more than 35 lifestyle amenities, and a five-acre vegetarian luxury hotel to be run by The Leela.
Around the same time, he also leased out his own flat in Mumbai Vaastu Building at Pali Hill, Bandra West, a home he had bought back in 2016 for Rs 35 crore and got designed by interior designer Gauri Khan. That apartment is now on a five-year lease for Rs 11 lakh a month.
So, between buying land in Ayodhya, now Pune, and renting out a premium Bandra flat, Ranbir seems to be actively managing and growing his real estate assets rather than just sitting on them.
Ranbir isn’t the only star doing this. More and more Bollywood celebrities are moving beyond just owning fancy apartments in Mumbai. They’re now buying agricultural land, farmhouses, and premium plots in places like Alibaug, Lonavala, Pune, and Goa.
Names like Amitabh Bachchan, Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon, Virat Kohli, and Anushka Sharma have also invested in land and properties outside the usual city hotspots. It seems like celebrities are treating land as a long-term investment, much like stocks or gold, rather than just a place to build a bungalow.
What’s Next for Ranbir Kapoor?
On the work front, Ranbir isn’t slowing down either. He’s currently working on Ramayana, one of the most ambitious Indian film projects in recent memory, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. He plays Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is reportedly being made on a massive budget, with music by A.R. Rahman.
So while his career keeps growing on the big screen, it looks like his real estate portfolio is growing right alongside it.
